Am I too old to start ballet/pointe and get very good at it?

I started pointe when I was 12, but I had years and years of ballet before that. Basically, it all depends on ankle strength and capability. You should probably start taking as much ballet as you can to build up ankle stregth, and doing relevé and elevé on each foot everyday outside of class.

Some older girls pick up ballet and the stregth quickly, some do not, and really it just depends. Ask your teacher for tips, and ask him/her about pointe as well. Some studios offer pre-pointe classes, and you could definately look into that!

Hope it helps!

Take beginner ballet lessons. And going on your toes isnt imprseeive because in point shoes it is 100% different than anything you can do without pointe shoes. And I am 13 and going on pointe in 1 week and I have done ballet plus other dance, hip hop included since I was 1.

It should take you 4-5 years to go on pointe because its not just about ankle strngth it about your technique to. And my first pointe shoe fitting was yesterday and when I went on pointe I realized that your ankles do so much work and you will I guarntee break your ankle if you go on pointe within the next 2 years. And tahnk you for realizing and appreciating the effort we put in.

Because science proves taht ballet/pointe is the most physically and mentally demanding sports in the world. And you will have to be very invested if you want to go on pointe. But its all worth it because the second you hear your going on pointe it all sinks in and you see that all of your hard work and hurt muscles and failed attempts at things have all paid off and that you r finally getting to the pointe wen you feel accepted by the world of dance.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
