Of course not. It is true that most first-time writers write in First-Person POV. It is also true, typically their targeted audience is the young-adult crowd.
On the other hand, many world-famous authors not only wrote their first work in First Person, but they also stayed with it. Such series as Hunger Games, Divergent, Percy Jackson, Twilight, and Lux are ALL written in First-Person. Add to that such greats as The Great Gatsby, Jane Eyre, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Handmaid's Tale, The Bell Jar, all of Carlos Castaneda's work, and a whole host of others.
So no, don't listen to anyone who says there's "clues" to what makes an amateur writer. The only clue that counts is, they haven't yet sold a manuscript. :).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
