An anyone recommend a good carpet cleaning machine. Adverse comments regarding Bissell and Vax have made me wary! Have looked on Amazon and other sites for user comments and are more confused than ever.
See bad reports for all the major named machines and don't know whether to not bother and carry on hiring the expensive cleaners. Asked by weeble 45 months ago Similar questions: recommend carpet cleaning machine Adverse comments Bissell Vax made wary Home.

We have a Bissell and love it It’s an older model and big and heavy but doesn’t mess around with either the cleaning or the suctioning. It is serious about both! I remember we spent about $300 for it about ten years ago and it is still going strong.
Now we only use it to detail the car (a minivan and with dogs, an adult retarded son who sometimes throws up, hauling animal feed, plants, etc. , it can get pretty dirty pretty quickly) and it does it all very quickly. Before we got our big washing machine, I would also do the mats with it. Now we can toss the mats in the washing machine and dryer (Whirlpool Duets).
But that Bissell got used at least once a week in our old house, as I would do one room every week (raised six kids). I tried a number of the ’green machines’ and they all broke down, but the Bissell is ten years old and still going strong. It was, I think, an example of getting what you pay for. We have loaned it out to a neighbor and it did great for him, too, on his carpets.
No complaints except yes, it is heavy and awkward, but for us that is worth the power and large water tanks that don’t need changing/refilling as often..
1 I discussed this with my local vacuum shop. They STRONGLY discourage Bissell - and I have to agree. I bought a Bissell a few years ago when we were raising puppies for guide dogs - the machine didn't last and only got about 10 cleanings out of it before it died.
Vacuum store recommends Hoover - if you are going to do it yourself. It's the only one on the market with enough suction to lift most of the water out of your carpet. If not, you'll get carpet separation and mildew.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
