Smarty (web that is) Nice, I am pleased you are around, I have just put forward a question on here and would be very happy if you could answer it. I have some basic experience in SEO and know how to find excellent keywords to promote pages in the search engines, Im just a bit stuck on the best place to use them on a Mahalo how to page for maximum benefit. Where, within the structure of a Mahalo how-to page, should I place keywords for the spiders to recognize them, above other places on that page?
I have a couple of SEO tips that might help folks here on Mahalo. 1) Mahalo is very well built. Don't worry about the "tricks" of SEO.
Mahalo does a really great job of taking care of a lot of the traditional Search Engine Optimization things that generally take a lot of time. You can find a lot of the things that Mahalo does in the background on this page: How to SEO Your Website. 2) Clearly written content is the most important thing.
If you fill your pages with grammatically unique, correct, interesting, factually correct, interesting content, your pages will almost instantly do better. A little bit of regular work and careful attention to detail goes a very (very) long way. You are smart (yes you) and you know what sounds good, looks great and is compelling.
Make your pages sound good, look great and engage people in what you show them. 3) Give people a reason to stay on your page. If you insert a truly interesting video that relates directly to your page and you describe that video in words using the description field of a Featured Object, you will see your page revenue increase.
People naturally promote interesting pages. Links that folks share on forums, blog comments, across social networks, etc are SEO gold. 4) 1 single well written page can do better than 500 poorly written pages.
SEO is 75% luck. If you're lucky enough to have 1 page that is in the "right place at the right time" or more specifically, composed about the right topic in the correct vertical, then that page will do well if (and only if) it is well written and is filled with interesting content. Here's some proof.
Look at http://www.mahalo.com/leaderboard/users the top earners. Ignore all of the coupon pages that they manage. Each one of these people has one two pages that are exceptionally well written, full of good content and are doing very well.
The highest earners have more than two pages that have interesting, compelling, unique content that engages the readers that are interested in each topic. Here's an example from the list of pages I manage: How to Format Your Hard Drive. 0) It's really not tough. It just takes some time and work.
That's all. From my experience, SEO isn't about tricks, tactics or mysterious optimization. SEO companies tell people it is to make money.
Knowing how to compose compelling, interesting content is the only real secret. If you review high earning pages, listen, practice, learn and importantly not skimp on content, your pages will rank higher, earn more and do better. Smartweb is doing something really great here.
Ask her some questions. She's very smart.
Ok, I'll go first. I got quite a number of games related pages. How do I best market those?
Some examples: Avatar Game Bayonetta Borderlands Dantes Inferno Game FIFA 10 God of War God of War 2 God of War 3 Infamous Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots ... You get the idea.. Some are new, some upcoming, some are older. How best to aproach their SEO?
Smartweb good to have you here how do I build a page that would come up as google's top ten. Since it is not my personal website where I can use Meta tabs? How else can I get google to pick my page out of so many others?
And how do I draw traffic to my page without advertising it? These are my questions, I gladly await your reply Thank you.
I would like to know what should I do with my DKNY and DKNY coupons pages. The brand is good. I am not getting much traffic on them.
Would you please help? Thank you.
There is some debate as to how frequent the keywords should be on a page (any internet page). I've done a lot of SEO work for clients and they usually just tell me what they want me to do - where to put the articles and so forth. How do you really know what the best routine is here?
Is there a "trick" to SEO that pertains to Mahalo? On some sites I work with I noticed that certain routines work, on other sites I work with I try to follow those routines only to realize that something else works. Also, how many keywords should each page be optimized for?
Smartweb do you know I already planed to ask a questio for SEO help. Here is my problem. I have only one how to named How to Become a Stage Actor.
I just discover that this page placed in first search page of google but *NOT IN YAHOO OR BING. They put this page after some pages later. But in google search eHow is my main compete.
Their page placed at first of search page. When I am using 'How to become a stage actor' or 'How to be a stage/good stage actor' then my page placed in first page but *I WANT TO PLACE IT TOP OF SEARCH PAGE. BUT when I searching without "how to" like 'stage acting' or 'stage actor' then google through my page after 4/5-8/9 pages later.
But eHow placed before my page. I think there is some weakness in my guide note, I mean in my content because when google rank me then it searches how much relevant my content with keywords. My content strongly supports "how to be or become" but it is too weak when keyword is "stage acting" or 'stage actor' or 'learn stage acting' now my question is *HOW I CAN OPTIMIZE MY PAGE FOR THESE KIND OF KEYWORDS should I rewrite my content?
I notice you another thing that my content also related with eHOW article because when I submit my task then I used eHOW and other some sites for source. I know google dislike same things. Should I reform my guide note or steps?
When I am adding featured object like image or video and writing description about my featured object then *SHOULD I KEEP SEO IN MY MIND? I mean then should I take care about description to ensure that these description is related with my targeted keywords? Only my this page has a good SEO ranking but all others are so poor but I think I need also a good ranking of my coupons and gadgets pages.
Even this pages are new. I would like to place my coupons page within first three search pages. I have also a celebrity page named Priyanka Chopra I need a good seo for it.
Here are my some pages : Acer F1 Australian Open 2010 Belkin Home Base FA Cup 2009-10 French Open 2010 IP Address Miss America Miss Universe Mr. Beer Coupons Peace Day Priyanka Chopra UEFA Champions League 2009-10 Web. Com Coupons I think getting visitors from facebook or twitter also a fact in *SEO ISN'T IT? It will be helpful to me to say how to optimize these page for google.
I think you can make common tips for sports pages and coupons pages. Tips also will be same for miss america and universe just need to tell me severally about peace day and priyanka chopra page. Thanks @safiqulislam.
Thanks many of us write for other sites and SEO is the key to what we do there as well. Or a big key anyway.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
