Any insights on writing applications for iPhone, Android, Nokia etc.?

There are a couple of really good iPhone App dev tools on the market today. Some are free while others you have to pay for. Because of the iPhones popularity, a wide array of tools have shown up in the past years timeframe.

One of the cooler ones lets you take virtually any web page (or web code you develop) with Javascript, and turn it into an app. This means that you don't have to learn Objective-C to create an iPhone app. If you can build a web page with Javascript, you can build an app.

PhoneGap is just such a tool. What's even cooler about it is that it lets you build that same app for not just an iPhone, but for Android and Blackberry as well. phonegap.com/ The issue you will face trying to develop for each of these platforms is they all have very different mobile OSs.

There are at least 16 different mobile OSs that I know of, and each has it's own quirks. Here's a cool little tutorial on how to make an iPhone aware web page http://www.engageinteractive.co.uk/blog/2008/06/19/tutorial-building-a-website-for-the-iphone/#detection Here's a guys that sells iPhone web templates: http://www.knoxing.com/2007/08/20/create-iphone-apps-with-knox-iphone-template/ Another cool iPhone App dev tool (but it does cost money $99) is Nimble Kit. Just like PhoneGap it relies on using web dev techniques to create your App.

http://www.nimblekit.com/ A newer one that uses web dev techniques is Titanium Mobile from Appacelerator. This is for both iPhone and Android: http://www.appcelerator.com/products/titanium-mobile/ And then there's Corona from Ansca: http://www.anscamobile.com/ If your looking for an software package to help develop iPhone Apps, then I would look at ModelBaker. http://www.widgetpress.com/modelbaker There are a ton of other ways, but these should help get you started.

Especially if you are more of a web developer than a programer. You can always check out Apple's iPhone developer pages at: http://developer.apple.com/iphone.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
