Any significance to Google's “expires” date being Fri, 01 Jan 1990 00:00:00 GMT?

No significance, any date in the past will do the job, someone just picked an arbitrary past date. This is so your browser won't cache the page :) Your browser understands "this is good until..." oh, I need to fetch it again, every time in this case.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
