Anyone want to see an easy peazy way to find and report a spammer and grab a Mahalo Badge or two?

First, yes I want to help re spammers and having a way to do it "easy peazy" would be cool. No, I don't want a badge or be praised for turning in another Mahalo user (even if they're an abuser), I just want staff to know and deal with them. Second, if you're not a regular "spy" user, or are only on Mahalo an hour here - an hour there during the day, how do you spot stuff like this?

Thanks @buddawiggi. Any community member who wishes to help keep Mahalo a user friendly place can pitch in here. Whatever your personal motivation, it is a bonus for the entire Mahalo clan, and site, if our collective eyes and ears to stay open.

The 'terms of service' may seem like a stuffy phrase, but they are there to help keep the Mahalo Answers question and answer site a productive place. Anyone has the right to help by reporting a response that seems to clearly be a SPAM ad or to otherwise be offensive. Another user who has recently been posting commercial spam is 'greentextbooks'.

While the responses are somewhat on topic they are still SPAM. This user has also been posting to closed and very old questions, another tactic of seasoned SPAMMERS.

Excellent suggestion, @buddawiggi! I find the spy view very useful for keeping track of anything that's going on on Mahalo anyway, and indeed, it's a great way to spot these kinds of 'patterns'. It is really one of the best ways of monitoring Mahalo activity.

Now, if Mahalo would only bring back the questions to that spy view, that would really be great...

It seems suspicious that there is already 20 answers from new users. The person asking the question didn't seem to be the problem. Maybe it's not spam, but if it was, how would I report this kind of problem?

Seeing this question and @bunnyphuphu's answer brought to mind a classic movie clip. Sorry buddha, I couldn't resist. youtube.com/watch?v=qb3d4_Unp0M.

Good to know. I've seen ads in answers before and didn't know what to do with them.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
