I wouldn't add aquarium salt, especially if you have plants. If you keep his water pristine, it's likely to get better on its own. Otherwise, I'd try medications for bacterial infections and such.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
