Are bunk beds safe for a 7 year old and a 3 year old?

I am thinking about buying a bunk bed for them, but they fall and hurt themselves pretty badly as it is. Is this a good idea? Asked by :-) 55 months ago Similar questions: bunk beds safe year Family.

Yes--for the most part Yes, they are relatively safe. They pose no more harm than putting your 3 year old in a regular bed without a rail. My best friend has 4 boys--10, 7, 5, and 2 1/2.

She has bunk beds as it's a smaller room and won't fit 4 twin sized beds. As are all boys, hers are accident prone as well and have the scrapes, scratches, scars and bruises to prove it! Her bunk beds have the full size bed on bottom and the twin size bed on top with a rail on the top to keep them from rolling out bed in the middle of the night.

The bottom bunk used to have a rail, but it proved to be a nuisance and a pain to try and crawl over the rail to get out of bed in the middle of the night. She also never puts the baby on top at night--even though he would really like to (he's quite a climber and we will sometimes walk in to have him up on top with his brothers after he's scaled the ladder to get up there). When it's time for bed, the 5 year old and 2 1/2 year old sleep together on the bottom.

She puts the 2 1/2 year old on the outside and puts a pillow on the open side of the bed. He's never once rolled out of the bed. If you're really nervous, and your bed doesn't come with a rail, you could purchase a bed rail.

Sure! My husband and I each have a son from a previous marriage and they are both 8 now. They have been sleeping in bunk beds for at least the past 3 or 4 years.

I would suggest putting the 3 year old on the bottom though. You will also have to lay down strict rules about jumping off the top or just playing on them in general. We still have to yell at them from time to time about swinging from the top bunk or jumping around on them.

Last week, my seven year old cousin spent the night, and he slept on the top bunk, my two year old daughter slept on the bottom, and it worked out great. The only problem I foresee is that your three year old may climb up to the top bunk. When we first got the bed, my daughter thought it was great fun to climb up there, so we took the ladder down so she couldn’t do that.

If your seven year old is sleeping up there, taking the ladder down may not be an option and you might have problems keeping your three year old off the top bunk. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
