Are cashmere sweaters worth the cost? How many do you have and how long have you been collecting them?

It's worth it to buy them, but wait for the sale. Cashmere sweaters are warmer and softer and definitely preferable to regular wool. There are different qualities of cashmere, though-even within the same store, so you'll want to choose carefully.

I work at a women's clothing store that begins bringing in cashmere sweaters by the truckload this time of year. They start out at about $140-150. A few people will buy them at that, but very soon they'll be buy one get one 50% off, or 25% off.

Most will sell at that time. Then they'll be marked down to 40% off and 50% off, you should still be able to get your size at this price, though sometimes you may have to call around. If you wait even longer, you can get them even cheaper, but you run the risk of not finding the exact one you want.So my answer is, yes they're worth having, but don't pay more than you need to.

Full price is definitely a rip-off. As for me, I never had any cashmere until I started working in retail 2 years ago. Now I probably have 8-10 cashmere sweaters, and they get a lot of use.

They really are very nice... I have 4 of them and I enjoy them very much. I do get a little bummed out when I see them at Costco at such a low price and I wonder if I have been suckered in the past. If you take care of them, they will last for quite a long time and you will get your money's worth out of them (though less so in Southern California).

I think they are worth the cost. I only have four of them, because we don't need sweaters most of the year. I do enjoy wearing the cashmere ones, because they don't itch, don't pill up, or stretch out.

I have gotten these four in the last few years. I have had cashmere socks and sweaters in the past also.
