I'm sure there are Democrats out there thinking about it. Obama didn't win the nomination in 2008, he never got the number of DNC pimary votes to secure the nomination, and Hillary Clinton actually polled 5 percentage points higher than Obama against various Republicans for the general election. It was DNC delegates who GAVE the nomination to Obama, despite Hillary's higher popularity (testament to how much many DNC insiders dislike the Clintons).
Obama is, to my knowledge, the only Democrat nominee not to win the DNC primary vote. If Hillary entered the 2012 race, she would be formidable against Obama. Especially after 30 months of Obama making everything else a priority over the economy, a 512-point stock drop on his birthday (Aug 4th), and S & P downgrading the U.S. credit rating the next day.
Hillary was beating Obama on all the later primary states in 2008: West Virginia, Pennsylvania, even Puerto Rico. If she wanted the nomination, I think Hillary would have a good shot. And Obama has lost independent voters, who now side against him 2-to-1, and many Democrats as well will just stay home.
His current popularity is 42%. That's not unsalvageable in the next 15 months, but it is an uphill climb.
If he/she wants to commit political suicide, they might. Case and point: Who is Lyndon LaRouche? See what I'm saying.
And as far as the lowering of the credit rating, it was a political move on Standard & Poor's, not a financial one. And let's not forget that Standard and Poor's is the same credit rating that gave mortgage-backed financial instruments excellent ratings. And you saw what happened to the housing industry.
Additionally, Standard and Poor's has admitted to a $2 trillion mathematical mistake in their calculations, yet they still downgraded the creditworthiness of the USA. Don't you even wonder why?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
