Yeah, the Income Tax of 1913 was pretty much the kickstarter that began one hundred years of "progressive" destruction.
First you need to understand that in this day and age there needs to be a safety net for those that cannot take care of themselves (please before you give me a thumbs down finish reading my post) it is not a liberal thing it is a human thing (one reason Conservatives give more to charity than liberals) But the issue is America is NOT near as liberal as it appears, we would have been broke 40 years ago if it was, Only in the past few years have Conservatives started to speak up, started to hold rallies, started the TEA Party, until a year or so ago, it was only liberals out on the streets, they were the squeaky wheel that not only got the grease but got the attention, a dozen people screaming and yelling at an event of 10,000 peaceful people will be headline news not the 9,988 that sat trying to work with in the system to make change. In other words there are not near as many liberals in the US as it seems, they are louder, they are more vocal, they are more violent but NOT more prevalent. As just one glaring example, look at Chic-Fil-A tens of thousands supporting them and only hundreds against them.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
