You cite a lot of data, but leave out two rather critical numbers; (i) Between 60 and 65% of Americans own stocks in US companies that are components of the Dow Jones Industrial Average (as stocks, or in Mutual funds, or in Pension plans...) (ii) Under the last Republican, the Dow LOST 23.7%....under the current "liberal" President, the Dow is up 54.9% as of yesterday. The VAST majority of human beings care FAR more about what their own lives are like than what other people's lives are like! Obama will have little trouble getting reelected...

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
