Wow that is a new wrinkle! My best guess is that they have listened to some of the people on here who have complained about the questions about Askville and Amazon. I know that they do read the questions with Askville as one of the topics because they emailed me to see what the problem was when I asked a question about problems that I was having with my inbox.
I have noticed several questions that were used as a way to complain about questions that the questioner thought should have been directed directly to the Askville staff. Since this question is still here though I don’t suspect that they are going to be too strict with it though and it would be a shame if they were. Askville I saw that awhile ago, and wondered about it myself. But I think they are referring to more "official" kinds of questions--of which I can’t think of what it would be about, but I can’t imagine them not wanting us to answer general questions about the site. I’m sure they don’t want to be inundated with all the newbie type questions that we cheerfully answer for them!
I would guess that the "rule" also protects them when someone says "but I read on Askville that I can do this"--they can always say "but you read that from a poster, not from the official people at Askville". And your question is still here, along with many more concerning how Askville works, so I'm sure it's ok! .
Wondering Im wondering if that is meaning questions that some people post about their orders(that they have not got them yet) when they post the order number and their email in the question,,or like the one saying askville was on her credit card statement, I m wondering if its questions like that they are meaning. I think basic questions like you have asked is fine. But again thats just me and my opnion.
I think they are find with just do you like askville, do you like the topic ideas that type of questions. But with the indeapth questions asking about credit card statements and orders that are lost through amazon is what they are meaning by not asking them in the q and a board. I did not notice the new F and q and so thanks for posting it.
