Are the Boston Red Sox stealing signals?

I think he has the potential to be an extremely popular and productive player in Boston...but I think there will be dangers to overcome as well. The contract itself is not that bad as it only runs into his Age 34 season...similar in scope to the deal given Adrian Gonzalez a few years back.. The two problems I foresee are the expectations placed on Panda and his ability to focus on his physical conditioning.. Boston fans are far more demanding and vocal than SF fans..and I wonder if they really understand what they're getting in this deal. I think people look at his big frame and the fact he plays 3B and expect 25-30 HR and 100 RBI.. In reality, Panda has averaged 16 HR and 73 RBI over the last 4 seasons....during which time his OPS has dropped by about 20 points every year.

Panda's weight issues are already well-known...and I think John Farrell is a similar "father figure" as Bruce Bochy... but we've seen many athletes show steep drop-offs in production as they round that 30-year old mark (former teammate Tim Lincecum is a good example). As you reach that age, you have to work twice as hard to achieve the same goals physically... I wonder if the five-year deal might take away some of his edge. I have a lot of respect for Sandoval and I do wish him well.

My personal feeling though is that he'll enjoy some nice runs with the Sox and be very popular... but if he disappoints and the fans turn on him, they could be regretting this deal in the third year...

Even though he's loved by the Giants fans, like many others, he's in it for the money. In Boston, his nickname will gradually change from Kung Fu Panda to Big Papi 2 or Little Papi.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
