There are several breeds that are "hairless" types, however they all actually have very short hair and they still make dandruff, which has the same allergenic proteins that are a problem with those who suffer from cat allergies. There are also the allergens present from the cat's saliva. So, no, there is no such thing as a hypoallergenic feline.
Sorry, but wait for science - you never know!
The Devon Rex and the Cornish Rex are two possible breeds. The Devon Rex is a gorgeous looking cat, with a loving nature. The Cornish Rex have poodle-like curly coats which do not shed in the same way as other cats .
They are unusual looking cats, who have a great deal of personality. Another possibility is the beautiful Siberian Cat. They are bred to cause less allergic reactions than some of their feline cousins.
These cats are very exotic looking, but are actually quite hardy. They have soft, silky fur which does not shed as much as other long haired cats. This is from one of the websites about this breed: " Why do Siberians have a hypoallergenic tendency?" "The most notable theory is that Siberians have a lower Fel d1 level than ordinary cats.
(Fel d1 is the protein produced in the sebaceous glands that trigger allergic reactions. ) A new study has just been commissioned by the University of California (at Davis) to study this mystery. The results will be a few years away, but this will be the first sanctioned, controlled study of its kind.
Go to Allergies. I can tell you, from experience, my wife and I cannot be around normal cats for 5 minutes without an incredible amount of allergic reactions. We not only have 3 Siberians as pets, we on average have about 10-15 Siberian kittens in the house with us, at all times.
Sleeping on us, sitting on our lap while we watch television, etc. We have no reaction, at all. There are also other breeders, like us, who started out without ever being able to own a cat, and than not only owning, but breeding Siberian cats! There are hundreds of testimonials out there, of people who cannot be near normal cats, who own Siberians (usually 2 or more!
)" It is possible to adopt a rescue cat from these breeds, as with any pedigree animal, kittens can be expensive.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
