I have a degree in physics and have some postgraduate experience in particle physics theory research. My instinct is that the neutrino measurement is a mistake, probably due to the researchers underestimating their error bounds, which can result in an unexpected result appearing significant when it's really not. It would be exciting if it was a real result though.
I studied a little physics. My reaction to the neutrino stuff seems to have been pretty much the same as the guys at CERN - that it is probably a broken experiment! Way to early to start jumping to any conclusions.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
