Go to a place you can look at both at the same side. How important is a good picture to you? How important is the money?

Or do you like a large screen better? Get some good advice and see what you like best. I would never get 720 if I could afford 1080, but I vaule a clear sharp impage over other considertions.

Yeah, I have both kinds of TVs, and the 720 looks fine on Fox channels because they broadcast at 720p, but on the other channels that broadcast at 1080i, the picture is a bit blurry, probably because the TV has to down-convert from 1080 to 720, and then double the frame rate from 30 to 60. But both kinds of TV give an incredibly better image at larger sizes that old CRT TVs. So buy what you can afford now, and later, buy the higher end TV when you can afford it.(By the way 1080 TVs are really all that much more expensive.) .

Gary4 is right and has good advice. I consider the current standard to be 1080p with 240 MHz refresh rate. There are many good brands.

Plasma has a different standard and I don't find the plasma picture all that bright. However, we see and hear things differently.

If you've got a bluray player, and are getting a bigscreen TV, there will be a definite difference in picture quality. 1080 has about half again the picture quality of 720.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
