Women have served and fought valiantly in combat situations. They are just as capable of being brave and firing a weapon accurately in combat as men are. With that being said, one MUST take into account physical limitations.
The military currently has a standard for physical fitness, strength, and endurance. With women entering the picture one might suggest that the military lower the standard to allow for more women. This would be a mistake.
These standards have been set into place for a reason. Infantry is not an easy job. Marches and patrols carrying up to 80+ pounds in gear.
Soldiers need to have the strength to pull/carry a wounded soldier out of harms way. These are just a few of the concerns that might arise. Not to mention the sexual tension that would be created in platoons and units that might affect the cohesion and combat effectiveness.
I am not suggesting that women necessarily be barred from combat roles. They should simply be required to meet the same standards as male soldiers are.
Yes. How much upper body strength does it take to push a button or pull a trigger "it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
