I will have to wait and see. My wife just went om Medicare and we do not know what the final numbers will be.

Both of us have Blue Cross supplemental policies that were our (FEHB) plan when we worked for the Federal Government. I was at FDA and she was at DoD. I pay $175.08 for that policy every month. So does my wife.

Dental and vision plans are extra and about $50 a month.

(You already know how the other 8 justices are going to vote. )"I may have a good idea, but I do expect some surprises on this vote. Who is going to overturn Congress?

Not that it matters. I just don't see Justice Kennedy going for it. (s is the only opinion that matters.

You already know how the other 8 justices are going to vote. )What's interesting is that it won't be possible for SCOTUS to overturn it for at least another year, and by that point a number of provisions will already be implemented. I agree with the Florida court judge who said that the lack of severability makes it impossible to fix judicially.

I assume that's why it was left out; I think it's naive to portray it as an accident. You can't cut the individual mandate without invalidating the carefully crafted bargain. Which means that a lot of people who are being covered right now may lose their coverage at a stroke, and things will be quite chaotic.

That should be fascinating to watch. The real question will remain unanswered: would this scheme have altered the cost curve? Unfortunately, even implementation would never answer that, not without a control.

But it's too bad that the net effect will be that we never even tried to fix it. It won't be repealed, and I'm extremely skeptical that they'll be able to bring forth a serious contender to replace it. (Such a job is extremely complex, and requires a lot of input. It's only possible if everybody involved is deadly serious about it, and anybody who ever said "death panels" or "socialism" is not going to be serious about a new bill.

$2000 savings per year... that's like two months free coverage for me.

The nature of the question is interesting. Savings under the affordable care act? Who will finance the savings?

Wouldn't that be us, the taxpayers? .

Then we spend less through out taxes AND less on our individual policies. If we're not subsidizing emergency room care, and instead subsidizing preventive medicine, there *should* be a substantial savings. It remains to be seen, of course. _Goldie_ 7 months ago .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
