No, unfortunately I do not live in Australia and cannot go to the Melbourne Cup. However, I tell you what I would love to go see a horse race of that calibre! 'Viewed" won the cup last year and the horse is in great form now and I think he can do it once again.
The prize money is also an amazing 3.3 million which is among the highest in the world. The atmosphere is amazing too. And I will definitely try to make it to the race on of these days.
