Are you more sympathetic to the homeless situation because of the economy?

This new change in the economy doesn't change the sympathy I have always had for the homeless. Some of my earliest memories are of being homeless. My Dad left my Mom and siblings when I was just 4 years old.

Luckily we never slept on the streets. My Mom had a wonderful network of friends that we stayed with until she got back on her feet. I am still close with those family friends to this day.My Mother is my great hero and took such good care of us when we were younger.

She worked her way up within the City of Berkeley and retired with a good salary and pension. I'm sure that most of the typical working class and now even middle class people are just a few paychecks away from being homeless. We need to feel more secure in this day and age... but I don't think anything will change anytime soon.

Sometimes I wish I lived in France and could take advantage of their great pension and healthcare system. There's nothing wrong with socialism if you've ever been homeless.

Yes, by all means. Many people are homeless because of our economy and I feel terrible for all of them. I think it was very greedy of several of the CEO's and other higher paid employers that forced many business's to close.

If there was something I could do to help these people I would in a second that way of living is soooo sad. flickr.com/photos/crickiephotos/2094752803.

Your comment that the economy and financial world are somehow sinking is not accurate. The economy has been improving for the last year or so and the financial world is just fine. There are many social safety nets and there is more affordable housing than ever.

There is also a substantial amount of day labor required. Homelessness seems to be caused more by mental disturbances and antisocial attitudes than anything else.

They confronted bank executives about Wells Fargo s role in the country s financial crisis, the high number of foreclosures that reduce families to homelessness, and the bank s investment in private prisons. War Machine Creates Rising Poverty. The New Priorities Campaign protests military spending as a direct cause of increasing poverty and homelessness.

National security needs to be defined by more than our missiles, ships, planes and drones. Our country has been turned into fortress America to protect the interests of the 1% at the expense of the 99%.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
