When I see all of the other countries, many not as progressive as the United States, that have elected a female leader I can't help but wonder why America is so slow. Even the Cherokee Nation has had a female leader, Wilma Mankiller. Talk about irony in a name.
I've read that in the New Hampshire Primary llary won because of the over 65 female vote. Do you think that these women having lived though earlier years with more subjigavtion want to see a female rise to the top of the heap before they die? I, personally, think that it would be wonderful to see what a woman can do.
I think the first woman president will face so much criticism that no matter what she does it will be condemned. Asked by voglsang 48 months ago Similar questions: ready female president United States Politics & Law > Politics.

Absolutely! I think it's time for the U.S. to walk the walk and show that equality is more than just lip service. I'm sure a woman president (or any minority for that matter) will have to work harder just to be considered equal, but it will be a huge step forward.
Of course, the bar has been set so low for the past 7 years that maybe Clinton or Obama won't have such a tough time proving themselves. Yes, and I am certainly not the only person in the world outside the U.S.A. The only two details that are important now seem to me the fact that llary Clinton is intelligent and - as she stayed faithful to her husband in impossible situations - has the character to keep to her promises. Mrs. Clinton is not a showoff woman and has a program that is protecting the weakest citizens of the U.S.A. America as a country doesn’t want to have anything to do with political systems that are not developed inside this enormous community of Federal States. A woman with so many talents as Señora Clinton seems to me a Golden Choice as President of a country that is in a situation of basic changes that have to be made in a relative short period of time.

I personally am still undecided who I'm voting for. The candidates have about another month to win me over before the Maryland primaries. But either way, I would like to see a woman become president of the United States.
I don't know if that should be llary Clinton or someone else, but it would be interesting to see the way a woman would run the country. I agree that the woman would face a lot of criticism and there will be people out there who will not support her no matter what. The world has changed a lot in the past 50 years.
Heck, the US has changed a lot. Look at all of the immigrants from Mexico and Latin America. Look at how things changed after 9/11. But I'm not sure the government itself has changed very much.
Perhaps a woman can bring something new to the table. Even if a man gets elected after her, the US will have changed forever having a female president once and things will be taken into a different perspective..
I'm ready for a woman president is she is the right person to be elected. I don't think we should elect llary or anyone else because she is a woman. If she is the right person for the job, than I'm certainly ready for her.
Let's stop looking at race, religion, and gender as what defines us. I agree with you in that many women have ruled nations and done a great job. Once again - right person, right time, right place.

1 As stated I think it would be great to see a woman president since most other countries have embraced this idea. The reason llary may not have it over Obama is the fundies. The idea of a woman and a far left leaning one at that, makes their toes curl.
If the race were between Huckabee or McCain do you think the conservative independents would vote for her? This is a question I am having to decide right now. I can't waste my primary vote if I don't think she can stand up against any of them in the presidential race.
I would really like to see either her or Obama in the white house come next election but I have to be very careful with my vote. It's like gambling. I am reading a lot of news and following this race closely.

If you were elected President of the United States....
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
