I'm open to everything these days. I use to say everything except opera and rap but I’m beginning to appreciate certain elements of both of those too. I really love the female Blues and Jazz singers from the 40’s Big Momma Thorton and Betty Roche, Big Maybelle, Helen Forrest, along with the divas Billy Holiday, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, and Dinah Washington.

Oldies from the 50’s Elvis, Bill Haley and the Comets, Bobby Darin, Patti Page. Then came my era of coming of age with music the 60’s I listend to so many types of music back then. First and formost Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin, The Supremes, The Animals, Janis Joplin, Roy Orbison,The Beatles, The Doors, The Stones, Cream, Jimmy Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane.....Sam Cooke, The Shirelles, Led Zeplin, on and on and on.

The 70’s brough Disco and the Bee Gee’s. LOL! And I revolted and went toward Punk and Ska bands.

The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Elvis Costello, The Damned, Joy Divison, Gang of Four, The Specials, Talking Heads, Undertones, The Plugz, X, The Yachets, The Gears. Then came the 80’s once again so many great bands and a lot of them were one hit wonders. Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Modern English, Bow Wow Wow, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Thomas Dolby, Dead or Alive, John Waite, Tom Tom Club, After the Fire, Wall of Voodoo, Midnight Oil, Hair Cut 100, Josie Cotton, Information Society.90’s Alternative Green Day, Nirvana, REM, Creed, Counting Crows, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blind Melon, Radio Head, Garbage, Nine Inch Nails, Sound Garden, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice In Chains, Tools, Stone Temple Pilots, Off Spring.

The past year or so I have been learning to like opera...I can’t say I like it all or even most of it, but certain ones have become a welcome addition to my play list. Rap has evolved like all music does and I can appreciate some of the new rap; however the hard core stuff still puts me on edge. Now I listen to what’s new and what I loved from back in the day.So there you have it.

My life through music. The one person I have listened to through out the years has been Bob Dylan, always loved him and still do and those blues ladies still have a big place in my heart. Video Big Momma Thorton Video Bette Roche .

Classical, Tin Pan Alley, pre-1970 folk and country, non-show-off gospel/hymns, some bluegrass, cool (not hot! ) jazz, .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
