Askville adults: Do you still watch animated Christmas TV shows even if your kids don't? If so, which are your faves?

Hubby was teasing me because I lamented missing Rudolph on TV a few weeks ago. Of course, I own it on DVD so I can watch it whenever -- but there is something that makes me feel like it's Christmas time once I see it on network TV. The other two shows I always want to see are Charlie Brown (love Linus's speech at the play rehearsal) and, of course, Frosty.

So I started wondering if there are other adults who look forward to those specials every year as well. ;-) Asked by Yuliah 49 months ago Similar questions: Askville adults watch animated Christmas TV shows kids faves Entertainment > Television.

Of course! I HAVE to watch the animated old-fashioned How the Grinch Stole Christmas every year. I nearly have it memorized word-for-word.

And of course I love Rudolph and Frosty. Although I always thought that little blonde girl in the Frosty cartoon must be really, really cold with such a short dress. Huh.

I can't get through Charlie Brown with out crying at least twice I love Christmas spcials. I've been lucky enough to catch Charlie Brown on TV twice this year. I've been really sad this year because Jim Carry's Grinch is on all the time, but I haven't been able to catch the original How the Grinch Sole Christmas. My mom and I often refer to our circle of friends as "the Island of Misfit Toys," but I'm pretty sure the new CGI Rudolph just wouldn't do it for me the same way the old clay-mation one does.

I much prefer the classics; Christmas doesn't feel the same with out them, and the new ones don't feel much like Christmas at all. I suppose that's why adults love the classics- it remids us of when we were kids. When we didn't have DVD's so we could watch them at any time and we had to see them on TV if we were going to see them at all.

It was a really special treat. Sources: my oppinion Video Tears. Every time.

If I ever have kids they're going to think I'm the biggest dork ever Video Or, as done by the cast of Scrubs .

Every year! I watch all of the classics like you (Rudolph, Frosty, Charlie Brown), and one of my old roommates turned me onto "The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus. " It's just one of the many Santa origin cartoons, but for some reason, I must have missed it every year as a kid. It's worth a watch if you haven't seen it.

Is there a way to watch television shows online.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
