Maybe it’s because I’m a National League fan, but I actually think the NL has more talent than the AL does. That’s why I find it so surprising that the AL has won so many all-star games in a row, because if someone held a gun to my head and said “what league is the most talented†I wouldn’t even blink before I said the NL. When I think of really good, overall teams, there are certainly some, like the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays who have all the components, but I see quite a few teams in the American League who would get absolutely rocked if they had to play in the National League.
I think part of it is the talent in the National League when you look at the pitchers, Tim Lincecum, Roy Halladay, Brandon Webb (when healthy) Tim Hudson and on and on and on. The fact that Albert Pujols, who is bar none the best player in baseball right now is in the National League helps as well.
Overall draft philosophy – I always wait on starting pitching as it is always deep, you can always find starting pitching in any round, and there are always starting pitchers that emerge from the middle rounds, late rounds, or even off the waiver wire. See how many people drafted R.A. Dickey in your fantasy baseball leagues last season as a prime example. Speaking of R.A. Dickey, I am avoiding him in all of my fantasy league drafts this season.
The move from the National league east to the American league east will result in a higher ERA and WHIP. He just does not have the track record to sustain the stats of an ace. He is currently being drafted in the 4th round ahead of CC Sabathia and Madison Bumgarner.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
