My earliest memory is as a two year old at my Uncles wedding, which is a blurry vision of black suits and a froth of white (the bride I"m guessing). I think I remember it because it was a big deal and I had to borrow a fancy hat from my cousin. I remember the hat..it had ittle rosebuds on it.(shades of Citizen Kane!).
Clearly-about age 4, but images of other things earlier. I believe you can recall at 2 - don't listen to people who say it can't be.
I can remember back to when I was two. Very vividly as they are memories of my mother that died when I was almost 3 so that is probably why I got to keep these memories :).
I do not remember my exact age, but I was still in diapers. I was very young.........Our home, like many of the era, relied on wood burning stoves for household heat. I awakened, cold in the night, and pulled a cardboard box near the stove and began a rocking motion.
I rocked myself into the side of the stove, severly burning my palm, my knee and foot. I remember the severe blisters and being afraid of the doctor cutting them. This is memorable to me, because of the pain, (I have since, spent a lifetime burning myself,) and my Mother coming to my rescue is one of the few memories that I truly have of her.
There have been some who have told me, that I simply remember being told of the event. But that is not so..............NO ONE else would know that she was sitting on my Daddy's lap when I fell into the stove, or that it was my Uncle Butch who I trusted and who calmed my childish fears.
Earliest Impressions, are one thing ... and Memory is something you can Recall ... meaning, coherent, episodes or experiences. Most of us have Impressions, but a few can recall distinctly, of what happened before the age of Two or three ... others can recall events that happened when they were around five years old. I can recall impressions, from the age, when I was one year old.
I don't think I can recall any events earlier than age five.
I'm with you. I recall when we had a garage remodeled into a living room. I was told that I was just two years old at that time.
I actually had this conversation recently with my mom. I was telling her about my earliest memory. I was standing in my crib, holding onto the wooden rail, crying, and looking at all of the stickers on the back of my door waiting for her to come through.
Telling my mom that, she was amazed that I could remember that far. She said they took me out of that crib at some point when I was 2 years old. I was amazed that it was possible to remember that far back.
Yes people can remember things happened when they were very young. I remember things when I was 3 years old, and even remember people who I saw for one time but they were effective some how :).
I had an ex who could remember things from when she was barely 2. I personally have a terrible memory and can only remember a few things from when I was 4 is my earliest.
I remember my young days when I was 6 years old. That was my happiest year so that is the reason I remembered.
I can recall those sweet moments when I was three. Though my mommy can recall about me when I was not even born.
I remember that I was 3. I was playing with my toys.
I can remember when I was between one and two years old being potty trained.
I can recall things at the age of two as well but they are a little fuzzy but three is clear to remember details and how and who was there.
For me, I recalled something when I was just 3 years old..
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
