It is really up to you. I have four nephews and one niece. My oldest nephews are between the ages of 10 and 13.
I stopped giving them actual gifts after they turned 5 for two reasons: 1. I wasn't really sure what to get them anymore. 2.
When I did ask them what they wanted, they preferred money. I don't ever send them JUST a card; there is always a little money (of any amount, they are pleased with $1 or $5). However, my oldest nephew said he would be just happy with a card.It is the thought that counts.
I would stop around 13, they are old enough after that and probably don't really want anything at that age except clothes so I wouldn't even bother, just get them something for xmas.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
