Should I take my 3 week old son to my nieces birthday party which is outdoors?

Well, a couple of things. First, how many people are going to be there? Are there going to be a lot of family and strangers, hanging over your baby, touching and holding and yes, spreading germs onto him and his clothing and blankie?

If there are, then I would say no. If you are a strong enough person to ask them to not touch your baby, and there is a place where he (who will most likely sleep though it) can be safe, then take him. Now, the second thing.

Outdoors means heat. Do you live in an area where it is going to be really hot outside? If you do, and you are not going to have access to a cold place for your baby, then I would leave him at him.

Bottom line is that this is your child. You can do whatever you like with him. I just wanted to point out a couple of things to think about.

I would keep the baby away untill has been fully immunized. That's me and I did keep my kids in a bubble the first few months. We did that with my grandson and now he is 7 months old and never had even a cold.

Well, I wouldn't. In all probability it will be hot, occasionally buggy and you will have to keep an eye on him at all times to see if he is awake, needs changing and feeding. Why don't you just have someone trustworthy watch him in his own basinett and enjoy yourself for a couple of hours by yourself.
