At what age should men be examined for prostate disease?

Men over 50-or over 40 if there's a family history of prostate disease-need to have a prostate exam. It may be uncomfortable for just a moment, as the doctor inserts one well-lubed finger in the rectum (two if he wants a second opinion) to feel the size of the prostate. But that check is the first sign of prostate trouble.
