I always shopped with my daughter for prom/formal dance dresses. It was great mother-daughter bonding time and we always ate at a nice restaurant after shopping. We made a special day of it.
She probably would have preferred that my husband go with her instead simply because he's a sucker and believes her when she says "this is a reasonable price". She once convinced him that $80 for school supplies was reasonable. We were fortunate that our kids went to a strict private school that did not allow bare midriffs or extremely short skirts at any school function, so that saved me the argument (and the whining and eye-rolling) from my daughter.
However, we had a very difficult time finding cute dresses that would pass the dress code.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
