There should be badges for voting. One set of badges for voting questions and another for voting answers. I think the badges for logging in are really moot since Mahalo never logs out when you close the browser. It really just forces regular users to waste time logging out and logging back in just to get a badge.
I don't really think it's serving the purpose Mahalo intended. I would have badges for number of times you use the spy feature. I would have badges for how many BA-s you choose.
(How many times do people ask questions and then never give anyone the BA? Maybe a badge or two would help.) And I would create a special category of Badges named after truly great Mahaloans. They could be the "Titans of Mahalo" Badges for overall exemplary Mahalo participation (most badge acquisitions in a given time period or over a long haul).
I recommend (and this is just from my small corner of the Mahalo world - I'm sure there are many other deserving Mahaloans, some I even know but just don't realize the extent of their participation): The Budda Badge The Phu Badge The Corey Badge Though this is off topic, I would also like to suggest: How about a 60 minute window to change your vote? Sometimes it's a knee-jerk reaction you wish you could take back. Sometimes it's a misunderstanding and when you communicate through comments, you likewise want to change the vote.
Any drawbacks to incorporating this? Also, what about more vote options besides up and down? How about applying the B/A star scale (with definitions) so the level of quality can be gauged?
Sometimes I vote up to encourage the person to participate more, sometimes because they made me laugh (even if they didn't truly answer the question). It would be great to have a vehicle to better communicate the intent or extent of our vote.
Š :) We deserve at least one. I think...:) My honest opinion! Don't yell...Please!

.Love the team tipping one.... I'm going to suggest we put a 2x the normal M$ on that one... so by tipping a lot you get 20% back or something. Also, I want to give a NEGATIVE badge to people who have made over M$10 but have never added a tip..... CHEAPSKATE: Made M$10 given less than M$1 in tips (fine of M$1! ) TIGHTWAD: Made M$25 in tips given less than M$3 in tips (penalty of M$3!) etc. We're also going to give "FINE" badges to spammers... so, if you post a spam or flame you are going to get the: PIG Fine/Badge: Get reported for spam (-M$1 fine) DIRTY PIG Badge: Get reported for spam 2x (-M$10 fine!
) HOT HEAD: Get reported for flaming someone/racism/violence (i.e. I'm going to kill you stuff) fine... -M$5 RAGE: Get reported 2x (-M$10) :-).
I have mentioned these suggestions elsewhere but this is a great place to repost them if we are going to have one big collection of suggestions for new badges. :) Team Tipping Badges! Once a user has added $10 to the team tipping pot - "Volunteer" Once a user has added $25 to the team tipping pot - "Player" Once a user has added $100 to the team tipping pot - "Coach" Once a user has added $250 to the team tipping pot - "Head Coach" Once a user has added $500 to the team tipping pot - "Owner" Voting On Expiring Questions Badges!
The "Alderman" badge could be earned by voting on at least 20 answers for 30 days in a row. The "Mayor" badge could be earned by voting on at least 20 answers for 60 days in a row. The "Congressman" badge could be earned by voting on at least 20 answers 90 days in a row.
The "Senator" badge could be earned by voting on at least 20 answers 120 days in a row. The "President" badge could be earned by voting on at least 20 answers 365 days in a row. Of course all values, levels, and names are arbitrary but you get the ideas :) I feel that voting on expiring questions so we can close them with best answers is very important and those Mahalo users that vote well and vote often should be recognized for their effort in helping do this.
I also feel that team tipping helps a lot in building a generous community spirit and really helps in getting the best and most interesting questions to the top of the section and those Mahalo users that spend their own Mahalo dollars in team tipping should be recognized for their generosity.

I've already seen some great ideas, especially the 'vote on answers' bages. Maybe we can also have badges for x 'comments', with names like 'negotiator', 'debater' and 'politician'? :) Another category might be badges for answering questions by lower belt Mahaloians, including videos, or pictures to answers (called 'visionary' etc) Oh, too many ideas!
I am quite please with the badges. There should be a badge for items bought from Mahalo store. It would really be nice if the badges could be made retroactive.
If not all at least some. I do know some members such as myself have already asked 250 questions , answered 250 questions. And received 250 best answers.
I also think there is quite a number of us who have been a member of Mahalo for more than six months. It also seems odd that most of the people I have seen here for over a year are not considered veteran users because in my book they are.

As I am new to this site I don't much abt badges, so someone explain me about those things those who help it will be great.
I think that while this is a great thing, the Badges should be higher. 250 is the cut off for most of them and what happens if you have 250 or more on just about everything then you have nothing left to shoot for. I think answering questions should have a badge for 500, 1000, 2500 and 5000 answers, questions too.
I agree with the expiring question thing as well, because then people would help clear out the expiring questions and then it would move along quicker. Another thing I think should be is a badge for those who made it to being a guide and a guru and a badge for those who promote the site. These would give people a ton of new things to work for.
I would like to suggest a badge for getting best answer on anonymous questions. Sometimes I feel they don't get enough attention, and a badge for them would help them out. What about after answering 250 questions, maybe have one for 500 and then 1000.
Or after the 250, have badges for answering a certain number of questions in a certain category.
Please advise above 7. Thanks in advance and pardon for the above many queries.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
