If you have planned to be in mma afterwards then bjj is a must. Boxing is good if you find out a club which focuses on making champions ( better fighters ) rather than fitness purposes. Also if you could find out a good bjj training center, the most appropriate thing will be to go with it.
Boxing should not be underestimated because it has served so many fighters well. Even in mma, boxing skills are a part of the game (stand fighting). When it goes to the ground (which happens 98% of the time) its better to be knowing a all rounded grappling art like bjj.
If you are looking for an art as your based art. Either boxing and bjj both will serve you well. But I seggest you bjj over boxing as first art because of you will have to learn a lot of techniques in bjj.
Good luck mma fighter.
If you want to go for MMA, try to join the wrestling team in high school. Wrestling is a great base to start out. There you will learn takedown offense, defense, footwork, and clinch scenarios.
You can dictate where the fight goes with wrestling. Wrestling will also make you strong physically as well as mentally. A great majority of UFC fighters, including champions, were once wrestlers.
Then in the offseason, you can slowly pick up boxing and/or BJJ. Wrestlers tend to pick up BJJ a lot quicker because it's another form of grappling.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
