Varicose veins are veins that are twisted and enlarged. They are commonly seen in legs and ankles but they also can appear on other parts of the body like the arms and rarely in the forehead or on the bridge of the nose (like what my cousin has). Varicose veins are said to run in families but there are also that are being acquired due to long hours of standing or sitting and according to old folks, bathing during the menstruation or right after travelling are the causes for having varicose veins.
