What are varicose and spider veins on legs?

Spider veins and varicose veins are all part of the same vascular tree of blood vessels and arteries. Varicose are the bigger, tortuous blue vessels. The smaller offshoots are fine venules, and unfortunately these can be a harbinger of possible underlying varicose veins.
