Your using a portable scanner....now your getting into how hard can you press the scanner onto the document....how smooth are you moving the scanner across the document.....and the document itself.....if this document is so old and fragile...do you risk damage to the document... And as for books....it is hard to press flat a book for any scanner to really read....and again is this a fragile old book where pressing it down will damage the book..... All you can do...is start at the binding area....and slowly in a slow and steady motion...move across the page....do not try to go from the top to the bottom...but go from left to right.....( hint ) if you have to make 2 passes you can always cut and paste the 2 pieces together....
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
