There aren't that many programs in Texas and there are none specifically in Dallas. U North Texas in Denton and Texas A&M in College Station both have undergraduate programs in forensic science. UNT Fort Worth has a master's degree program in Forensic Genetics.
Sam Houston State also has a masters degree program. If you must stay in Dallas, I'd suggest that you go to SMU and major in something like Biochemistry, Biomedical Research, Chemistry, or Biology, then go to the UNT-Fort Worth area for graduate school. The minor in Biomedical Anthropology at SMU may be useful.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
