Best Road Access Fishing For Salmon?

Kenai River, usually at Soldotna, at least this year according to fishing friends I'm hardly an expert, but since no one else is answering, I've done some looking around and asking to see what I could come up with as even a remotely decent answer. adn.com/outdoors/fishing/ First, I see you're in Anchorage, so tho' I'll assume you're familiar with their fishing coverage, here's the link just in case. As you'll note, this fishing season doesn't seem to have been the thing of legends anywhere, alas.

A friend worked at Willow Park and said while they were catching, and that's along the river, most were saying it was nothing like it's been in the past. Isn't the fishing season pretty much gone for the year anyway? Maybe some silvers or chum?

Some friends did a short week of fishing down in Soldotna along the river earlier in the summer and did well, but, again, they said it's been better. They were working out of an established fish camp, too, one they return to year after year, but it was drive-to and along the river. The Kenai always seems to be the place to be, tho' there were fish to be had along the Little Su and Willow Creek, too, all drive to-able."Best" is the key, I know, but it just seems to have varied.

My friend working along Willow Creek at the Park, which isn't far off Deshka Landing, said some days were great, but others only so-so and fishing traffic was slow. That said, it's an easy drive from Anchorage, not as far as to Soldotna, that's for sure, tho', for that matter, how was the fishing in Ship Creek in town? Always amazed me to watch 'em line the creek there and pull fish after fish outta the water while the fishermen lined the banks almost shoulder to shoulder at times.

Some friends tried Bird Creek this year but said they didn't catch much. Www.alaska.Org has a brief section on fishing, tho' can't recall the exact link url right now. I'm not sure they update on a daily basis.... hard to do anyway cos these fish aren't always predictable .... but some solid info there that might help you make a decision.

I'm thinking they're the ones that had the break-down of what kind of salmon were most plentiful and when. Let's face it, even if fishing season is still going, it's late in the season so numbers will be low. There was a silver run on the, oh, let's see, Little Su, I think, not long ago that was nice but with slimmer rewards than usual.

All in all, sounds like a season most fishermen would like to forget, tho' the Kenai River seems to have yielded the most fish for the buck. Of course, most folks have favorite fishing spots but they're not telling where they are! Fish on!

A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
