It is based upon the principle of theoretical mathematics and the assumption is accepted by scientists (real scientists) world wide at least until someone comes up with a better idea, if such an idea exists.It was, of course neither big nor was did it arrive with a bang. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
