Wait for my book. I'm writing a book on exactly those lines - understanding psychology by means of people's biograpies and autobigraphies, writings (by themselves or others), etc. I started it because I couldn't find a comprehensive account - as opposed to books of theory that had the occasional 'for instance' included. The research has been very interesting indeed, although it's slow because you may spend the best part of a day just looking up two or three quotations.

I don't know when it'll get published, because there are a couple more important priorities. But it would actually make a good TV series for a serious publisher. On the other hand, should there be on Askville a publisher looking for an unusual offering, here I am ...

1 Alxandrthegr8, regarding your answer "Psych Book": Professor and the Madman is about the original compilation of the Oxford English Dictionary. The Madman in question was in an insane asylum though whether he was insane or not, the book does not go in to that. The man was a genius and a huge help with the dictionary.

A very interesting book.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
