Borderlands or Modern Warfare 2?

Dead Rising: Chop 'Til You Drop follows the harrowing tale of Frank West, an overly zealous freelance journalist on a hunt for the scoop of a lifetime. Get it now!

My vote is 100% for Borderlands. I've never been much into games, even though most of my friends are (which is what you get being a programmer). Borderlands is the first game to keep my attention span enough to actually get somewhere in the game - to actually make me want to put off other things to play.

Modern Warfare 2 is.. well, a lot like Modern Warfare 1. Borderlands is a completely new style of game, describes as a cross between an RPG and an FPS - seems a lot like a FPS to me, but everyone else I've talked to seems to see much more of a difference (given everyone else are more experienced gamers than me). It's cel-shaded, which isn't exactly normal in today's gaming industry where it seems like everyone is going for as realistic as possible - I actually prefer this style myself.

The maps are huge, and there are TONS of them. There are so many places to explore, things to see, and side mission. One of the biggest things I've heard people say about borderlands is the gun selection.

There is a HUGE gun selection - guns in this game are randomly generated.. they can be found in gun boxes, in vending machines, dropped randomly, in boxes, mission rewards, or after bosses are killed. The game allows for some 144 MILLION combination. There are 4 characters to choose from which all play a very different game.

Spending skill points from leveling up allow you to customize your attacks in dozens of different ways, as do class mods, and grenade mods allow you to customize your grenades. Skills and class mods allow you to have tons of different abilities, in almost endless combination. A lot of people also love the online play, which I do love.. I almost always play with a friend. It increases the skills of the enemies appropriately, and take advantage of many aspects of the game which would otherwise be unavailable.

I'm quite an explorer in games so I also love to play alone and explore the maps (as my friend can get impatient). The only problem is when you can't find someone evenly matched with out - however, this could happen in any game. All in all, that is my argument - I'm a Borderlands addict and I might be BA soon (borderlands anonymous).

Everyone I've talked to agrees it's a completely original game - after all, Modern Warfare is, well Modern Warfare. It's already been done. It's also referred to as COD6... FIVE PREQUELS!. However, it has great ratings too - I'm sure it'd be good as well, but it wouldn't be anything new.

Vote for Borderlands! Enjoy your Gaming... I bet you can get a deal on Boxing Day!

Honestly, you can't go wrong with either, as they're both great games. Though they're really not all that similar in their play style and that might throw you off about Borderlands. While Modern Warfare 2 is a pretty traditional style first person shooter (albeit one of the very best of its breed), Borderlands is more of an RPG with shooting as its main method of combat.

You traverse a giant free roaming world, pick up quests, kill lots of enemies, level up your character, and collect massive amounts of progressively better loot in the form of guns, shields, grenade powerups, etc. If you ever played Diablo, the actual heart of the Borderlands experience is more similar to that than it is to a traditional shooter like Modern Warfare 2. So like one of the above answers said, it depends on what kind of game you're looking to play. Personally, I love Modern Warfare 2 and it will be in my Xbox for a long long time while Borderlands was just a fun little distraction to play with my friends every now and then.

This all depends on what type of a game you're wanting to play. They are both excellent games! If you're looking for replay value, I would have to recommend Modern Warefare 2, since the online matchmaking is very awesome especially when you complete the storyline.

If your looking for a game that you can play competitively for the next month or so, this is the game for you. If you're a Fan of the Call of Duty multiplayer and questline, this is a good addition to the previous effort of Activision. Aside from the controversal scene where you control terrorists in a Moscow Airport, this has been given good review after good review.

I would probably rate this game at a 9/10, even though I hated Call of Duty World at War and swore off Call of Dutys altogether, lol. I love Borderlands, however, and prefer it over Modern Warfare 2 even. If you like Fallout 3 more than Call of Duty 4, then make no mistake this is the game for you. It's not as big as the Fallout 3 Map, and you do have to go through loading screens for each area but the overall play and questline is well done.

There are plenty of stuff to scavenge and plenty of weapons to long for. Although, unlike Fallout 3 you cant pick up armor, you have new stuff to find (ie: Class Mods, Grenade Mods, and Shields). This game does take awhile to beat, so its not one of those play it for 8 hours done with it forever games.

In fact, with all the different classes and 2 playthroughs it takes to reach level 50, you can be playing this for awhile. I would rate this, other than Assassin's Creed 2, the best game I've played this year with a 9. 8/10 rating.

Personal Modern Warfare 2 Playtime: 16 hours Personal Borderlands Playtime: Over 7 days real time, and counting! I would vote Borderlands, as it is one of my favorite games ever. Other games that I like, so you can differentiate tastes would be: 1.

Fallout 3 2. Dead Space 3. Dead Rising 4.

Assassin's Creed 2 5. BioShock 6. Too Human 7.

Left 4 Dead 8. Mass Effect 9. The Godfather II 10.Crackdown.

I'd say BorderLands if your into the whole RPG like Shooter. Seen alot of friends play it and it is alot of fun. CoD MW2 is a game you'd play if you just like shooters :).

Moder Warfare. The online gameplay is on fire and makes it a lot of fun. I hope to spend a little downtime with it :).

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
