My perception of Cons/Repubs is that they never make a claim based on evidence. Look through the last 10 conservative points and see how many actually make claims based on evidence. You will find zero.

Someone actually did a poll of Tea Partiers and found they were indeed racist - 2/3rd's believed that differences in wages between blacks and whites were not due to discrimination. Right. It's because they choose to be poor because they are black.

That is the definition of racism.

I know what you mean My students, when we discuss politics, tell me that there is no way that I can be conservative because they have been conditioned to believe that all conservatives are "racist, stupid, evil, haters" it does make for a teachable moment, though.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
