Yes you can share the internet connection , and as you thought the bandwidth will split up but it will not be two equal halves.. , how it will be split at any given time will vary depending on a no. Of factors.. As you have a wifi modem/router just create a connection from your laptop to your modem using Network & Sharing Center in Control Panel. Note.. You may not be able to share data between the two systems directly.
