I have been seeing a LAC PH. D for this "immobility".(only 4 visits so far) He has given me a patented herbal formula for my liver. I have lost all confidence in Western Medicine.
I went to an orthopaedic surgeon and he suggested hip replacement.WOW....after 2 years of seeking relief and referrals. (PT,Chiropractic,Gastroenterologist) I feel the acupunture will help with more visits. Any suggestions?

Acupuncture has helped me and countless other friends of mine. ...I too have lost alot of my belief in western medicine, and I am a scrub nurse. I have chronic back pain...I went through every kind of treatment there was to offer in "Western Medicine" with no relief whatsoever...but accupuncture cleared up about 70% of my pain.
There is a big difference in Practicioners though. I have had the best luck with those originally from China and who listen. You also know if they are good if they ask for x-rays.
If they actually spend some time looking at them and are able to prove to you some expertise in anatomy....you've got a good one. Going 2-3 times a week for up to a month should make a significant difference....if not....try another one. My heart goes out to you!
Good luck! Meg :} .
I am celiac. Celiac's can't have dairy or gluten grains. It causes osteoporosis and arthritis.
Not eating dairy and ... the gluten grains stops the intestines from being hurt which prevents nutrients from being absorbed. Not eating these things lower inflammation and heals the gut lining. Acupunture helps, but the diet is best.
I also take cat's claw, fish oil, green tea etc. To help heal the gut and inflammation. I take 40 vitamins. Alternative medicine helps the most.
Acupuncture will help up to a point... I got a lot of pain relief from acupuncture until the cartilage was gone from the joint...then I got the same spiel about hip replacement. I did my research though and found that hip replacements are only meant to last about 17 years...fine if you are in your 70-80s, but not so hot if you are younger. And if you need a second replacement, the outlook is horrible.
But I found that a hip resurfacing is a MUCH better option. Less invasive, 3-6 week recovery rather than 6 months, cheaper, lasts longer, much cheaper, and no hacking off bone. So if down the road, you really do need a hip replacement (if say, the head of the femur breaks down), you can have one.
I am now pain free and resuming activities I couldn't do for years. I was only 3 days in hospital and back to work in 3 weeks. My orthopedic surgeon opposed the idea...not because it doesn't work, because it was new (done for 20 years in Europe, 5 years in US) and why do it if hip replacement works?
It sounded to me like HE doesn't know how, so he opposed it...he couldn't come up with one real reason. So, if you get to the point where acupuncture doesn't help you, do some research and talk to a surgeon familiar with the procedure to find out if it would work for you. Start with the manufacturer of the most common appliance ( birminghamhipresurfacing.com/) but also look at some of the blogs of people who had the procedure.

It depends on the cause of the problem. If your hip is so deteriorated that it is the cause of the problem, hip replacement might be needed. Get a second opinion.
I had severe arthritis in one knee after an accident and surgery, and acupuncture did help. You should have some pain relief after one or two acupuncture treatments. It took 13 before I was able to walk without a cane..

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
