Any discussion of treating the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease quite naturally evokes a curiosity whether the medications used to treat Alzheimer’s disease could also be used to prevent Alzheimer’s disease, or whether they can be used by healthy individuals as “smart pills” to improve intellectual ability of normal or healthy individuals. A few studies have shown some benefits of using these drugs in college students preparing for exams or in test pilots utilizing flight simulator machines.
Further clarification of these issues is needed.
