Sounds like this company was in negotiation to sell the property for some time with that month to month lease. Maybe you and the other tenants can secure an atty to assist with a class action suit that highlights the difficulties of finding a low cost place to rent especially for those who have children. In the tri-state, a renter is allowed 30 days per individual within the house but that may only apply to people with a lease.
Review your lease and see how the eviction process is worded also check out the lay via the net. Hope everything works out for you.
You are on a month to month agreement so the landlord only needs to give you 30 days notice to vacate. Your landlord has done that and it is perfectly legal. Your right is to find another place and move out by the end of July.
Be glad they are going to give you your security deposit immediately plus a small incentive to move early; they are under no legal obligation to do either. You do not *deserve* your deposit back if you have done any damage beyond "normal wear and tear" so they are doing you a big favor by returning it so quickly. If it is hard now to find another place to live, just think about how much harder it is going to be if you let them evict you.
No decent landlord will rent to you for many years. Plus if you get any housing allowance, you will lose it and be barred for life from participating again. So stop whining.
Get out there and find another place for your and your CHILDREN to live before you find yourself homeless due to your own negligence.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
