They are not cheap. Period. Actually, tailoring is not cheap.

They don't seem much more expensive than other tailors. It seems most the negative reviews have to do with cost. They quoted me a price up front and stuck to it.

They did a great job with all 3. One wasn't done at the time they quoted. They had tried to call but I gave them the wrong number.

My fault. I wanted another taken in even more after they altered it, they did it without cost to me. I made an appointment and then was over an hour late.

They still got me in on a busy Saturday right away. They pinned me up and made changes according to my input. The dresses were true to fit pinned and sewn.

I am happy with both price and quality. Chicago, IL4 star rating3/2/2009I was looking for someone to make my wedding dress, and two of my colleagues recommended Sew Special. The owner was easy to work with and the dress was created really fast (less than 8 weeks total).

I picked it up this Saturday and I'm completely happy with it. It fits perfectly, and looks just beautiful. Sew Special is not cheap, but I've had one dress altered by them and another one made and I feel the labor they put into the garments justifies the price.

Also, I know my dress was less expensive than something similar I could have purchased. Another reviewer mentioned a "European" attitude. I found that they are classically trained seamstresses and will steer you away from what you think will look good on you to what actually will look much better.

In all, I'm extremely happy and will probably go back to have some signature wardroom pieces made over the next couple years. So after reading some reviews (here, google, citysearch) I deciced to take my ill-fitting jeans here.

I stopped by on a busy saturday afternoon. Perhaps I waited for 1 minute? No big deal.

I was fitted and pinned right away and was out the door in about 10 minutes. My jeans were ready the following saturday, and are both a perfect fit! Jeans can be tricky to hide alterations, but I can't even tell where they made the alterations (at the waist, they took them in about 3", how did they hide that?

). It was $50 total for both pair; well worth having 2 perfectly-fitting pair of jeans! I would highly recommend Sew Special (at least this location) and I'll be back again.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
