Yes having bad credit can potentially prevent you from being able to rent an apartment. A few years ago, a friend and myself were trying to move into a particular complex but because neither of us had really stellar credit at the time, we were denied. While having good credit is important in trying to rent an apartment, it also depends on the standards of the management company.
Some companies do go over your credit report with a fine-tooth comb while others look to see if maybe you’ve had problems in your previous living arrangements more so than your credit score. I have a friend who recently got an apartment and he was advised by the management company that as long as he hadn’t had any prior evictions, liens etc that he would more than likely be given approval.
Yes, having bad credit can definitely be a problem when looking for a new apartment. Landlords may check your credit score to make sure you're a good credit risk. After all, we are letting you use a unit that costs us over $100,000 for as little as one month's deposit.
If you've told other lenders to "pound sand" in the past, how do we know that you're not going to do the same thing to us? If you have bad credit, I recommend finding a landlord that doesn't check credit scores. Some simply won't ask to check your credit report, while others will say that they'll check it but not actually go through with it.
Another option is simply explaining your situation to the landlord and assuring them that it won't happen again. Bringing extra cash as a security deposit can also really help.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
