Yes you need to spend time with your brother but you do not need the entire time off. He will be doing other things as well with other people. Talk to your boss about it ask for a couple of days but nothing more than that.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
