It all depends on how 'blond' is the 'blond' you want because if the difference between your dark brown hair and the blond you want is too big, you might need to bleach/ pre-lighten your hair to achieve the result. My best advice is to visit a professional hairdresser.
Store bought brands do not lighten as much as professional hair color does. Your best bet is to look for permanent hair dye and check the back of the box. You will want to buy the lightest blond color available.
Once you flip the box around and view the color chart and what your hair should look like, you will find that it matches your desired color, or hopefully close. My other suggestion is to visit the salon. If you want to go many shades lighter, for best results turning to a beautician may be the answer.
You will not have to guess if your hair will get light enough. You simply choose the shade you want and let the professional do the work. You will be more pleased with the results.
You really do not need to go to the most expensive salon to get a great hair color. Choose a cheaper salon, if money is an issue. Chances are you will still like the results much better than doing it at home with store bought hair dye.
Good luck!
It sounds from your question as if you have tried before to lighten your hair without much success. I think your hair may be trying to tell you something like "I don't like what you are doing to me! " All joking aside, if you have very dark hair it is not wise to try to lighten it yourself by more than a couple of shades, which you could do with a permanent hair color.
The only thing which will really make dark hair blonde, is bleach and having seen a good few disasters among my friends who have tried to bleach their own hair, I really would leave it to a professional hairdresser. To try it yourself is risking ending up with very strange colored hair which is in terrible condition. Have you considered the high maintenance involved with keeping the roots re-touched?
Blonde hair with dark roots looks really tacky and they will need to be done every few weeks. Another possibility is blonde highlights, this gives a very attractive blonde look to dark hair and the roots are not nearly so much of a problem. Check out the photo to see the effect.
Both of my parents have brown hair, brown eyes. I also have brown hair, brown eyes. My two older brothers have blond hair, blue eyes.
Is that strange? A reason to think they may be adopted? How do I keep hot pink hair (dyed with Special Effects Cupcake Pink) from staining very light blonde hair?
I've been getting my hair highlighted by a rather inexperienced stylist for the last few months. I love the general color (a soft cool ash blonde) but I'ved got a few problems with it. Now I'm going someplace new with a more experienced colorist.
I know what I want -- how do I tell them what I want? What do I need to know about dyeing"hide-able" streaks of bright color on longish, dark brown, otherwise un-dyed hair. And can you recommend a colorist in DC?
What's going on with their hair? How does hair color appear on a night vision camera? Though I am embarrassed to admit that I watch Ghosthunters, I have noticed several times that the hair of the men who have brown hair on the regular camera appears to be a dark color on the night vision camera as well.
But, the two female investigators named Kris, who appear to both be brunettes on the regular camera, look like they have blonde hair on the night vision camera. How can everyone be brown-haired on the regular camera, but some look blonde on the night vision camera? How do I dye my over-processed hair myself?
I'm looking to start dying my hair at home. I'm considering semi/demi-permanent options and need more advice on what to choose. Previously having it done at a stylist.
Color treated, previously bleached/highlighted, going-grey hair. So I'd like to make my hair temporarily white (or maybe gray, bright white would be odd, but whatever) for Halloween. I need tips, including whether or not it's a good idea.
My hair is naturally dirty blond, and quite long. I don't mind if it's white for a few weeks, but I would like it to eventually wash out. What kind of color should I buy, or should I just go with a wig?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
